Thank you to the dedicated volunteers from our Parents & Friends Association (PFA) who generously gave their time to provide pre-show refreshments at First Performance: A Celebration of Barbara Sutton Hall In Concert on Thursday 13 August.
Guests enjoyed an expanded hospitality offering across the newly reimagined Barbara Sutton Hall foyers, with refreshments available from both lower and upper-level bars. The initiative forms part of a new PFA hospitality model designed to enhance the guest experience at School events while supporting the Association’s fundraising efforts.
We are grateful to the many parent volunteers whose enthusiasm and hard work helped make the evening such a success. Their efforts not only created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for concertgoers but also contributed to fundraising initiatives that ultimately benefit our students and enrich their educational experience.
The PFA volunteers will be back again this evening, Friday 14 August, supporting the Encore performance. We encourage guests to enjoy the refreshments on offer and thank our volunteers for their continued support of the School community.
A recent reunion in Perth brought together a wonderful group of CGGS alum, highlighting the enduring connections and strong sense of community that continue long after students leave the School.
Hosted by Principal Debbie Dunwoody, the evening was attended by women representing several generations of CGGS alum, many of whom remain in regular contact with one another. The gathering provided an opportunity to reconnect, share memories and celebrate their shared connection to the School.
One of the highlights of the evening was the warmth and enthusiasm of the group, whose affection for CGGS remains as strong as ever. Their stories reflected the lifelong friendships, values and sense of belonging fostered during their time at the School.
Among those attending was Mhairi Macleod (1956), who began her CGGS journey before the age of three, demonstrating the deep and longstanding ties many alum have with the School. It was also wonderful to welcome younger graduates, including Sam Dunwell (Elliott, 2015), illustrating the breadth of generations represented within our alum community.
The success of the Perth reunion is a reminder that no matter where life takes our alum, their connection to CGGS remains strong. We look forward to continuing to strengthen these relationships and reconnecting with alum communities across Australia in the years ahead.

The last few weeks of Term 3 have been busy, with the announcement of the 2027 Leaders and many trophies, medals, and pennants won in the sporting arena.
With the Junior School Disco and Father's Day breakfast, the end of the term has been busy, full of moments of connection for our families.
