Vision, Mission
and Values
We strive to ensure that Camberwell girls are lifelong learners, productive global citizens, compassionate leaders and catalysts for change. Each girl should be committed to making a difference to the lives of others, not only when she leaves the School, but also today.
We welcome students of all faiths and cultures and educate them to seek wisdom through intellectual inquiry, service learning and spiritual growth that honours our values.
Our tradition and deep commitment to social justice is an integral part of who we are. It is framed by our School Motto.
Our values are grounded in a Christian worldview.
CGGS began in the hall of St Mark’s Church in Camberwell and this rich heritage and Christian foundation remains vital for the school today.
Our Christian identity offers strong guidance in our care of each other and challenges our students to be of service in the local community and the broader world. School assemblies always include a bible reading, prayer, hymn and reflection. Our school values, along with our tradition of service and social justice are grounded in a Christian worldview.
Our school welcomes students of all faiths.

School Chaplain
Our School Chaplain, Reverend Helen Creed is an ordained minister in the Anglican Church of Australia. She nurtures the Christian life of the school and her door is always open. Students experience the beauty of worship in the Anglican tradition, as well as the refreshment of stillness and prayer through regular assemblies, services in the School Chapel and in St Mark’s Church.
Students have many opportunities to explore faith and spirituality.
“We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the school is situated.”
