Volunteer Thank You Evening

Principal Mrs Dunwoody hosted the Thank You Volunteers Evening to acknowledge and thank volunteers who contributed their time and effort to the School throughout 2024.

Over 90 volunteers attended the event and Mrs Dunwoody personally thanked parent volunteers from the Parents & Friends Association committee, Friends of Second Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS), Friends of Sport, Friends of Performing Arts, Year Level representatives, CGGS Dads Group and parents who have helped in various events or activities throughout the year.

  • Amy Henry & Tiel Lillehagen (Ava)
  • Anthony Jackson Reardon (Paya)
  • Radhika Kanhai (Tara)

Alum volunteers also attended, and Mrs Dunwoody thanked them for supporting the School by presenting at career and mentoring events, participating in the World of Work Year 9 interviews, writing letters of encouragement for the Year 12s and other many other important activities.

It was a wonderful opportunity to thank and acknowledge our volunteers for their support and contribution to the School.

Alum at HEXPO

Recently, we were delighted to see two of our 2023 alum Jacq de Mamiel and Natalie Chung reflect on their journeys at Camberwell Girls on a panel called Junior League: Gen Z and Alpha at HEXPO, Melbourne’s premier entrepreneurship conference. Moderated by Summer Howarth, a long-time Camberwell Girls collaborator who works at an educational systems and government level, these former students shared their insights on finding life balance, blending purpose with passion, reframing definitions of success, the importance of being authentic, developing transferable skills and the importance of being seen by others for more than just one thing.

Jacq is a Hansen Scholar at the University of Melbourne studying a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Languages and works as the Young Carer Voice Lead at Little Dreamers Australia. Her advocacy work sees her engaging on behalf of young carers at a state and national level to support and recognise carers in the workplace and the community. Natalie is a Bachelor of Science and Arts student at Monash University whose outstanding communication skills in graphic recording have seen her currently work for the Northern Territory Government’s Youth Voice Peak Group, which meets quarterly, and the Northern Territory Learning Commission, an initiative placing students at the centre of leading research and providing evidence-informed recommendations.

Jacq and Natalie are just two examples of our old grammarians who are blending purpose and passion through their endeavours. We look forward to seeing their continued success. You can follow them both on LinkedIn.
