The PFA organised a working bee to sort the outdated uniform items in the Second Hand Uniform Shop that could not be sold. The items were sorted and packaged to be sent to the Katalyst Foundation.
The Katalyst Foundation is a charity that sends much needed items to Fiji to help underprivileged communities to have a brighter future. Through this charity, CGGS will donate uniform items that cannot be sold in our Second-Hand Uniform Shop to support impoverished communities in Fiji, giving our school uniforms a second life.
Our donations will assist the Katalyst Foundation in its mission to empower underprivileged communities and create brighter futures. By working together, we can empower these communities and responsibly recycle our uniforms.
We had a dedicated group of volunteers to assist in sorting through uniform items to send to Fiji. If the items were stained or damaged, they would be sent to UPPAREL, a company that would shred them and turn them into new material. All our old uniforms are being upcycled.
Tara Rastogi, 2023 School Vice-Captain, recently visited the Year 12 cohort to offer advice on preparing for their upcoming VCE exams and embracing university life.
She discussed exam study tips for each VCE subject, emphasizing approaches to exam preparation. Her advice included collaborating with peers, creating essay plans, brainstorming ideas, practising essays, forming study groups, and creating flashcards, among other useful tips.
Tara, who is currently studying Commerce at the University of Melbourne, also shared some fantastic advice and tips on university life, including engaging with campus life, accessing academic resources, joining study groups, and getting involved in university social groups.
We are grateful to Tara for her time and invaluable tips and advice for the Class of 2024.
Year 12 exams are fast approaching, and Year 12 parents gathered at Flat Iron Wine Bar on Friday 26 July. They shared words of wisdom on how to support their daughters during the upcoming exam period. The event also served as a celebration of the end of school fees! There was a wonderful turnout and parents expressed confidence that the students were well-supported by the school to do their very best.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the school is situated.
