Dear Parents and Guardians,

Leadership development is a focus across the School with the addition of specific responsibilities or portfolios in key year levels.  Each student in Year 6 has the opportunity to apply for a formal leadership role and they are mentored by teachers throughout the year as they plan initiatives and undertake their responsibilities.

This week I had the opportunity to speak with our two Junior School Captains, Kaylee P and Alice X to learn about their initiatives this year and what they have learnt in their role so far.  I hope that you enjoy the video below.

I am also excited to share that in the coming weeks, you will hear more about our inaugural Giving Day on Wednesday, 4 September. This year, we have embraced a new model for our annual giving—a single, community-focused day. This approach, widely adopted by similar schools, is designed to foster greater engagement and unity within our community.

Our first-ever Giving Day will support a project very close to our hearts, enhancing a space that is central to many of our school activities and cherished memories. We are eager to share more details with you soon, but for now, I can tell you that this project will create a more vibrant and inclusive environment for our students. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!

I look forward to providing you with further information on our Giving Day in the coming weeks and revealing the impactful project your contributions will support.  From my discussions with parents over the last few years, I know this initiative will be warmly embraced by our community.

With best wishes,

Debbie Dunwoody
