Camberwell Girls will assess all International Students’ proficiency in English as one of the measures of candidate suitability. Students are required to satisfactorily complete an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) prior to commencing.
ELICOS test results will provide an AEAS Score which details the student’s proficiency in English. The table below is a guide to scores for entry.

Camberwell Girls offer Secondary School places for International Students from Years 7 to 11. Entry in Years 7 and 8 will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Principal.
For Year 9 and 10 students, intake occurs in Term 1 (January) or Term 3 (July).
For Year 11 students, entry only occurs in Term 1 (January).

Families or Agent Representatives complete and submit an online Application for Enrolment form. In addition, we ask for a copy of your child’s birth certificate, passport and visa documentation (if applicable), and payment of the non-refundable $100 Application Fee.
Please note, an application is a prerequisite to admission for a place on our waitlist, however it does not guarantee an enrolment.
Once an application has been received and if we have a possible vacancy, an Admissions Questionnaire will be sent to the Family or Agent Representative by email to complete. At this time, we ask you to submit further supporting documents including:
The Head of Admissions and relevant Head of School will review the application and supporting documents.
If we wish to progress with your application, you will be invited to participate in an enrolment interview with the relevant Head of School and other key staff. This may occur in person or online via Teams or Zoom where necessary.
During this interview, the student’s suitability for Camberwell Girls will be assessed. It is the responsibility of the family to organise an interpreter if required.
Following the interview, you may receive a formal offer of enrolment. To accept the offer, you must complete and submit the relevant documents provided by the noted due date, as well as make payment of a non-refundable Enrolment Confirmation Fee of AUD $1,000 plus one semester (half year) of tuition fees is to be paid (in advance). If payment is not received by the specified due date, the offer may be withdrawn.

Once the required paperwork has been completed and Confirmation of Enrolment fees paid, you will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment letter (for Visa Applications) and a Confirmation of Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) if applicable. This letter will be sent directly to the applicant’s family or Agent Representative.

An international applicant is a child who does not hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent or temporary residency.
International students require a Student Visa (Subclass 500) to study in Australia.
Please note the school does not offer support with Visa applications and cannot provide guidance on this matter.
We do not offer boarding at Camberwell Girls.
In Years 7-9, the student must live with a parent or approved relative. From Year 10 a student may reside in an approved homestay, with an approved support person.

Camberwell Girls Grammar School is a member of the Melbourne Schools Partnership International (MSPI). MSPI is a unique alliance between the University of Melbourne and a group of leading Victorian schools. During their study with us, overseas students have the opportunity to participate in a number of on-campus programs at The University of Melbourne. The main purpose of these activities is to inspire students about future study options and to motivate them to maximise their talents and abilities.
