A Night Under the Stars: Celebrating Our Community at Moonlight Movie Night

Last week, our school community came together for one of the most loved events in the school calendar, Moonlight Movie Night. This whole‑school celebration once again proved why it is such a treasured tradition, bringing families from every year level together for an evening of fun, connection and shared experience. Perfect weather set the scene for a truly magical night.

Before sunset, the Secondary School oval buzzed with excitement as families enjoyed delicious food, refreshing drinks and plenty of entertainment. The Parents & Friends Association (PFA) played a central role, proudly coordinating the event with their trademark enthusiasm. They offered an impressive range of food and created a wonderful carnival‑like atmosphere with activities for all ages.

From the ever‑popular jumping castle to craft activities – including the much‑loved slime stall – face painting and more, there was something for every child. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PFA and the 100 parent volunteers whose dedication brought this event to life.

This year, student volunteers also joined the team, adding an extra layer of school spirit. Their involvement, alongside our parent volunteers, ensured families, students and siblings were thoroughly entertained throughout the evening.

As dusk settled, families rolled out their blankets, grabbed their popcorn and snuggled in for a cosy screening of Monsters Inc. It was the perfect end to a night that celebrated community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Moonlight Movie Night was a wonderful reminder of the strength and warmth of our CGGS community.
