Mother’s Day Festivities

This year the PFA Mother’s Day Breakfast was held at Hawthorn Town Hall as the Barbara Sutton Hall Reimaging program has commenced. The event was open to mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, mother-figures, and daughters. Secondary School Captains Abigail, Angela, Nysa, and Junior School Captains Audrey and Neesha greeted guests with gifts and hosted the event.

Attendees enjoyed a delightful breakfast and engaged in lively conversations, filled with chatter and laughter, especially after hearing a lovely Mother’s Day poem from School Vice Captain Nysa.

The lucky winners of the door prizes received items from TBlends Global, owned by Secondary School parent Kanupriya Sharma, and Punar Sustainable Luxury Gifts, owned by Junior School parent Priya Kalyanimath. Overall, it was a fun-filled morning with lots of laughter and enjoyment.

The PFA was also delighted to organise a Mother’s Day Stall, allowing students to purchase gifts for their mothers or special guardians. Junior School students were particularly excited to have the chance to buy a gift for their mothers, grandmothers, or other special women in their lives.

A Wake to Remember

We were thrilled to welcome back talented sisters and proud alum Samantha Wong (2018) and Alyssa Wong (2022) to Camberwell Girls during assembly. Samantha has written both the lyrics and music for a brnad new musical called A Wake to Remember . She enlisted her sister Alyssa to be the Director of the musical. A Wake to Remember—a powerful and moving production that explores themes of friendship, unrequited love, and chasing long-held dreams.

Currently studying a Bachelor of Film and Television at Swinburne, Alyssa brings a cinematic eye to the stage, while Samantha’s storytelling and musical direction add emotional depth to the show. Students were treated to a live performance from the musical, followed by an engaging Q&A hosted by our Performing Arts Captain, Olive Clohesy.

We’re incredibly proud of their achievements and excited to see their work come to life. We encourage the Camberwell Girls community to support our inspiring alumnae by booking tickets to A Wake to Remember, showing 21–25 May. Don’t miss it!
