The One Year Reunion for the Class of 2023 was a delightful occasion, bringing together current staff and alum in the Fig Tree courtyard. Guests were eager to share their journeys since leaving school and fondly recalled school memories, sparking laughter and heartfelt conversations.
The relaxed atmosphere encouraged reconnections, reinforcing the bonds formed during their school years.
The event highlighted the value of community and lasting relationships created through their shared experiences whilst at school.
Year 6 parents and students enjoyed the Year 6 Graduation Supper after celebrating their time at CGGS at the Graduation ceremony. The Parents & Friends Association were thrilled to continue the tradition of donating the beverages for the Supper and to organise Year 5 parents to volunteer to serve the food and beverages.
The annual OGA Public Speaking Competition showcased remarkable talent, featuring four students as they passionately debated “Australian Youth Should Have a Say in National Decision-making,” demonstrating impressive debating skills.
This year’s judges included former School Debating Captain Salome Obeyesekere (2023), who emphasised evaluation based on manner, matter, and delivery method.
Winners of the competition are:
– 1st Prize Junior and Overall Winner: Valerie (Year 9)
– 1st Prize Senior: Lucy (Year 11)
– Runners-up: Ishana (Year 7) and Jessica (Year 8)
Thank you to all participants, especially Salome and Aashi, the 2025 School Debating and Public Speaking Captain, for contributing to another outstanding event.
The PFA wishes all members of the CGGS Community a joyous Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday.
Thank you to all our parent volunteers who gave their time the School and PFA to support the School and ultimately our students to continue to build a wonderful CGGS community.
We look forward to welcoming you all back next year at the PFA Welcome Evening on Friday 14 February 2025. This will be a wonderful night for parents across the whole School to connect once again and help build our amazing CGGS Community.
Merry Christmas to you and your family…see you in 2025!!
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the school is situated.
