THANK YOU

What a wonderful evening the Moonlight Movie night was on Saturday 16 March on the secondary school oval. With our whole CGGS community coming together to join in the fun and games as well as partaking in the delicious offerings of food prepared by our amazing parent volunteers, not to mention the screening of the popular family movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru.

The oval was abuzz with current students, siblings and extended families all enjoying the carnival style games and prizes, while enjoying the picnic style event.

Amongst other entertainments, the ever popular guess the lolly jars were won by Junior School students Cecilia Y, Akira R and Shirley Z. Congratulations and enjoy the sweets.

We are so fortunate to have such a generous community as we received donations for the Choc Toss stall, Cake Stall and prizes for the carnival games. We would also like to acknowledge the following families for their generous donations:

  • Mingqi Feng for donating hundreds of prizes for the carnival games
  • Raydan/Abou Assi family for donating 50 pizzas from Sofia Pizza Camberwell
  • Chris Killington for providing the Mail Star Espresso coffee van

Thank you also to the PFA Committee and 130 parent volunteers who freely give up their time to ensure Moonlight Movie Night was a huge success.

We are pleased to announce that the PFA raised approximately $4,500 from this event, and all the proceeds will be directed back to the school for the benefit of all students.

Old Grammarian Visit

It was wonderful to have old grammarian, Jessamy Gee (2002) visit us this week. Jessamy, Creative Director of Think In Colour, was working with select staff and students on her upcoming program for schools, Visual Thinking – Secrets and Hacks for Study & Note Taking. Jessamy has designed this program especially for school and students to improve their memory retention and recall by including a combination of visuals and text when taking notes.

The Parents & Friends Association was pleased to provide pre-show refreshments prior to the House Dance & Music Extravaganza on Thursday 21 March. Many parents enjoyed the PFA’s hospitality and it was a wonderful opportunity for the PFA and parents to connect.
