Father’s Day Stall & Breakfast

Over 140 fathers and daughters attended the Father’s Day Breakfast on Thursday 29 August. It was also wonderful to have a grandfather in attendance. The guests heard from our School Captain, Emily P and her dad Andrew, along with Hayley P and her father Damien as they shared their special memories of each other and meaningful reflections of their relationships.

As always, the competition ran high with the annual Father’s Day Challenge competition. The Junior School soccer competition was a tie! The Dads won the Secondary School volleyball competition and they were awarded the coveted Challenge Cup.

The event had an extra special touch with the PFA volunteers running a Father’s Day gift stall for our students to purchase small gifts for their dads. The Junior School students had the most enjoyable time selecting gifts for their Fathers or father figures.

Reunions

Last fortnight we welcomed over 200 Old Grammarians to celebrate multiple milestone reunions. On Friday evening, the Class of 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019 reunited to celebrate their 20, 15, 10, and 5-year reunions, respectively. On Saturday, the Class of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, and 1999 gathered for their 45, 40, 35, 30, and 25-year reunions, respectively.

CGGS Old Grammarians enjoyed nostalgic walks through the school grounds, reminiscing about their time at the School. Former classmates had the chance to reconnect and catch up on the years that had passed, flipping through old yearbooks and photo albums while sharing memories and laughter.

It is always great to see old grammarians who are current parents attend, and the presence of current and former staff made it even more special.
