FEBRUARY 11

SCHOOL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

On Wednesday 11 February 1920, eight students began their education in St Mark’s Church Hall.

On the 11th day of February, in the year 2020, we will commence our Centenary year on the school oval with a special ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the 100th year of Camberwell Girls Grammar School. The Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria, will be our special guest at this ceremony.

The Shape Of Us

In recognition of our momentous milestone of 100 years of educating young women, the Junior and Senior Schools will present a three day Performing Arts Festival.

This significant event will showcase music, dance, drama, multimedia and art in a variety of live performances and site specific installations.

FOUNDERS’ DAY
SERVICE

This service will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral and the theme will be ‘With Grateful Hearts and Unafraid’. We are delighted to have old grammarian, The Reverend Dr Raewynne Whiteley (1984) as our guest preacher. The Archbishop of Melbourne and Primate of Australia, The Most Reverend Dr Philip Freier
will also celebrate with us.

GALA
CELEBRATION

Our Centenary Gala Celebration will be held at Leonda by the picturesque Yarra River.

This event will be a magical evening of celebration and entertainment, welcoming everyone to commemorate 100 years of CGGS.

AUGUST 19

MUSIC
CONCERT

A musical celebration will be held at the Melbourne Recital Centre in August. Showcasing the musical talents of our students from Year 4 – Year 12, as well as old grammarians, this concert will feature choirs and a variety of instrumental ensembles performing a diverse repertoire.
