Barbara Sutton Hall Progresses Into Final Stages

Barbara Sutton Hall continues to evolve as one of the most significant transformational projects for Camberwell Girls, with the vision for the revitalised performance and community space becoming increasingly visible across the site.

Recent milestones across the project include installation of the new lift, with compliance testing now scheduled ahead of commissioning, and the completion of acoustic panelling on Level 1. Major enhancements have also now been completed within the new rehearsal and performance areas, alongside the enclosure of spaces that were previously external to the building, creating a more cohesive and interconnected interior throughout the Hall.

Within the auditorium, carpet installation has been finalised in preparation for the fixed seating, while the original timber flooring has been fully restored to an ‘as-new’ condition – an exciting milestone that beautifully reflects the Hall’s rich history, alongside its renewed vision for future generations of students and the wider School community.

Externally, the first set of windows has now been fitted to the newly constructed southern façade, revealing the architectural vision for the revitalised Hall. Internally, joinery works, including storage and cabinetry installations, are currently underway, while painting and finishing trades have commenced as the project progresses into its final stages.

We remain on schedule for an opening in Term 3 and look forward to hosting numerous events in our newly renovated signature venue.
